London celebrates the 2018-2019 AIPP Awards Winners
The 2018-2019 AIPP Awards Ceremony took place during one of the most internationally renowned hairdressing events in the world, the Alternative Hair Show, held at the regal Freemason’s Hall in Covent Garden, London. A global audience enthusiastically honored the artistic achievements of five internationally acclaimed hairstylists including: Rush Hair & Beauty (UK), Sylvestre Finold @ Toni&Guy (UK), Angelo Seminara (UK), Arjan Bevers (Netherlands) and Joey Scandizzo (Australia).
The AIPP and the Alternative Hair Show, also had the grand pleasure of presenting the coveted International Legend Award to Bruno Mascolo. Mascolo was presented the award by Roberto Pissimiglia, President of the AIPP, and Alternative Hair Founder Tony Rizzo. Along with his brothers Toni, Guy and Anthony, Bruno’s visionary leadership nurtured and developed Toni&Guy resulting in its phenomenal global growth and success. Bruno is also known due to his role as the co-founder and CEO of professional hair care brand TIGI.
Hosted by Roberto Pissimiglia and Maeve O’Healy-Harte, the 22nd annual AIPP Awards Ceremony event saw a handful of categories to celebrate a hairdresser or team. Rush Hair (UK) won the Best Commercial Award for their beautiful collection ‘Lost Rebels’ created by the Rush Artistic Team. Sylvestre Finold @ Toni&Guy (UK) grabbed the Best Avant-Garde Award for his stunning collection ‘Freedom’. Angelo Seminara (UK) was the winner for the very first Best Color Award for his awe-inspiring collection ’Namibia’ featuring some truly fascinating hair coloring techniques. ’Mr. Brooks,’ a collection by Arjan Bevers from Avanti Kappers salon (Netherlands) consisted of elegant, fashionable male styles that ultimately won the Best Men Award. And Joey Scandizzo (Australia) conquered the Best Video Award for a sumptuous, inspiring video showing his latest collection, ‘Labassa’.
Award recipients were selected by the AIPP Magazine Members throughout the world over last month. This year participation was impressive, having inspired 912 photo entries from all around the globe!!! What follows now is the AIPP Grand Trophy 2018-2019, where the 5 winners of the AIPP Awards compete against each other to become the final winner by sending in their Fall-Winter Collections.
