Franck Provost honored with the prestigious 2023 AIPP Legend Award

The Association Internationale Presse Professionnelle Coiffure (AIPP) is delighted to announce the presentation of the esteemed 2023 AIPP Legend Award to the globally renowned hair icon, Franck Provost (France).

The award was bestowed upon Franck Provost during a private ceremony held in Paris, France, with Mike Vincent, President of the AIPP, and Sergi Bancells, General Secretary. Franck Provost, a visionary in the hair industry, has left an indelible mark on the world of hairstyling and entrepreneurship. "The trade press has always been there, mostly from the beginning, writing about my shows and publishing my collections. It has been of tremendous help. Thanks for that,” says Franck. And he adds: "I have always admired Lluis Llongueras, first for the man, second for the artist, and also for the excellent quality of his salons. I am delighted to learn that he has received the first AIPP Trophy. It is a real honor for me to follow in his footsteps."

Beginning his journey as an apprentice in Le Lude and La Flèche, he swiftly moved to Paris, opening his first salon in Saint Germain en Laye in 1975. A pioneer of innovation, Franck introduced the concept of continuous workdays and walk-in appointments. By 1979, he had expanded to Avenue Franklin Roosevelt in Paris, just steps from the Champs Elysées, and in 1998, he marked his international presence with a salon in the Philippines. Recognizing the power of media, Franck became the hairstylist for "Sacrée Soirée" in 1987 and built a team dedicated to the entertainment industry. His talents graced the tresses of global stars, including appearances at prestigious events like the Cannes Film Festival.

A staunch advocate for the profession, he expanded his Training Academies and became President of the CNEC in 2000. In 2008, Franck merged his entities with Regis in Europe, giving birth to Provalliance. This European hairdressing powerhouse proudly encompasses esteemed brands like Franck Provost, Jean Louis David, Saint Algue, and many others. Subsequent acquisitions, like Brainwash Kappers in 2017 and Llongueras in 2018, cemented his leadership in Spain. Today, the Provalliance Group boasts over 3500 salons, serves 36 million customers annually, and operates under 17 brand names across 35 countries. Franck Provost's legacy is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the art and business of hairstyling.
